Electronic Program Guide (EPG)

Do you subscribe to a TV guide? Thanks to The Tube you don't need to anymore! The Tube gives you an overview of all running TV shows and the upcoming TV schedule of the next days. You can search for shows you're interested in and view all the available related information. And if that's not enough we've also integrated a Google-search, so you can find out even more about episodes and shows.

The Tube supports the open XMLTV standard You can find program guides all over the internet. The open source project XMLTV aims to collect that information in different countries and make it available in the open XML-format XMLTV. equinux welcomes this approach and is pleased to support the open XMLTV format. The Tube is able to import XMLTV program guides and assign them to specific channels in your channel list.

Type Ahead Find The Tube makes searching for your favorite programs quick and painless. Just start typing

the first few letters of your desired tv show and The Tube will display the resulting matches instantly from the Electronic Program Guide (EPG). With every additional letter you type, your results will be narrowed accordingly. If you know you will search for that same program later, just hit the return key and The Tube will save your search pattern for easy access later.

EPG Mode If you just want to see what's up next on TV, you can switch off the picture and focus only on the EPG listings. With EPG Mode enabled it's convenient to place The Tube in the corner of your screen. As soon as you see an interesting show coming up, just click on the title to jump in the show. Send a TV Tip to your friends Did you find an interesting show on television? With The Tube 1.5 you can copy the URL with the context menu and send it to your friends with The Tube running. As soon as one clicks on the link The Tube comes up and switches to the same show.
