MediaBank MT-R, like all external peripherals from Miglia, is made out of solid aluminium (Al). We did not choose the easier lower-quality but traditional route of plastics. The case is 1.8mm thick and the 5 mm front plate is machine-milled out of a solid block of aluminium. Metal also offers better protection and a much greater lifespan than plastic and whilst the cost of using metal is typically higher, how much is the data contained on your drive/s really worth?
  
MediaBank MT-R uses two high speed ATA-to-FireWire bridge board to ensure the best possible
performance.
The bridge boards used in MediaBank MT-R are fully supported by compatible operating systems and do not require any third-party drivers to operate.
Each drive is connected to a dedicated bridge board, giving the full FireWire bandwidth for maximum
performance.

 
 

MediaBank MT-R features a single ball-bearing fan placed on the side of the drive bay that provides efficient cooling, while maintaining noise levels to a minimum. The airflow is more than sufficient to keep two 7200 rpm drives running cool during long data transfer
sessions.
 
MediaBank HS-R closely follows the standards set by Kensington for the K & Lock system, the industry leading anti-theft mecanism for IT equipment.
To secure MediaBank, simply connect your K & Lock cable to the back of MediaBank.

 
 

Ever been annoyed by a power button located at the back of one of your peripherals? On MediaBank
MT-R, it is located at the front of the unit and is easily accessible.
 
To give best protection against shocks to your hard drives is provided by the anti-shock mounts.

MediaBank MT-R uses an external power supply to keep the size of the case down and removes the need for added cooling. Less cooling means less noise.

 

 


 

Charismac Anubis X Raid Software Included - A $99 value!

MediaBank MT-R ships with Charismac’s Anubis X software, the most versatile Raid software available for Mac OS X and 9.
The Mac OS X Disk Utility allows you to create Raid 0 and 1 setups but remains relatively basic. Anubis X on the other hand offers several configuration options, like disk partitioning and compatibility with Mac OS 9.x. Creating a RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration is a snap, and you'll be able to access Mac OS X volumes under Mac OS 9 and vice versa. A full version for Mac OS 9 is also included, of course!
