The ATA/FW KIT allows you to connect an ATA hard drive to the enclosed converter, which will increase your tranfer rates to up to 35 MB/sec. This kit is also a great solution if you wish to install hard drives or CD-RW/DVD-R drives inside your computer and still use FireWire connectivity.
The ATA/FW converter is bootable on most Macs and is compatible will all recent hard drives and CD-RW/DVD-R mechanisms. The converter also features a removable front plate for an easy installation in SCSI cases.

You can connect CD-Rx as well as hard drives to the converter* in master/slave mode. Mixing ATA and ATAPI devices is supported.
