Miglia Technology releases AlchemyTV™ DVR 2.1

New features included in Release 2.1:

• The live TV window is now integrated into AlchemyTV DVR. The DVR package is now made up of a single application


• 48 KHz audio support for the 'G5' version of AlchemyTV DVR


• A new de-interlacing option is now available in the Preferences menu. Picture quality on fast moving footage is greatly improved


• New Setup Assistant that guides you through the basic setup of the DVR software and selects the best settings according to the hardware you are running


• Picture cropping function. This feature enables you to cut the border of the picture to remove "black bars" or artifacts due to closed captioning showing through.


• Presets for the cropping function: TV Set, TV Set Widescreen and Widescreen


• TV window always on top function


• TV window transparency level


• New design for the Scheduled Recordings window. The 'detail' button gives additional information on the selected recording.


• New Remote control design. Numerous functions are accessible via the 'extended' remote


• Ability to playback a recorded movie with AlchemyTV DVR


• Use Channel number as index function. This new function ensures that channels are aligned for US residents


• The Help menu now contains a link to the DVR support page as well as the pdf manual


• AlchemyTV DVR checks for a new version on startup (this is activated on the second startup)


• French version of AlchemyTV DVR now available

About the AlchemyTV DVR

Featuring a high performance Philips tuner and full QuickTime support, AlchemyTV DVR lets you watch TV in full screen mode on your PowerMac.

AlchemyTV DVR features a scheduled recording functionality allowing you program the time and date for your recordings in a few easy steps. Your favourite TV program will be recorded onto your hard drive for later viewing or export to VCD or DVD.

With its TV/Antenna input, composite, S-Video inputs and stereo audio connector, AlchemyTV DVR can tune in to any TV station or record from your VCR. The Mac OS X compatible software allows you to select the supported QuickTime plug-in of your choice. This allows you to fine tune the level of video quality and size you desire. Fast PowerMacs can even capture straight to the new MPEG-4 codec!
