TVMini Troubleshooting
Q: I ran the channel
scan and some channels are missing.
A: This issue may affect UK users in particular.
There are several options to solve the problem:
- Make sure you are running the latest revision of EyeTV
2. If you have downloaded EyeTV 2.1 before the 4th of April
2006,
re-download and install the update. Due to a hardware change,
the channel scan option with prior versions of EyeTV may
not
detect all channels
- If you are using the mini-antenna, especially in France
or the UK, place it near a window. Alternatively, connect
TVMini to a roof-mounted antenna.
Q: My EyeTV serial
number is not recognised by the software. The serial number
card states 'TVMini HD'.
A: Please download EyeTV 2.1 from Elgato's
site. If you are using Mac OS X 10.3.9, please download EyeTV
1.8.5. 'TVMini HD' serials are valid for use with EyeTV 2,
there is no need to enter your serial number on Elgato's site
to obtain an upgrade code.
Q: When I watch
TV, some channels display a blocky picture. What can I do
to improve this?
A: This is likely to be a reception problem. You can verify
the signal strength and quality in EyeTV > Preferences
> Devices > Signal.
Usually, a roof mounted antenna will resolve most reception
problems, especially in France and the UK.
