1. The signal is not strong enough
Similar situation to above. This is more likely to
happen in France and the UK where the digital TV implementation
is far from perfect. If you are using the mini-antenna,
place it next to a window.
If you are not having any luck with the mini-antenna,
connect the receiver to a roof-mounted antenna and
re-run a channel scan.
2. The mini-antenna is not in a correct position
Digital TV reception may vary from one location
to another. Moving the antenna by a few centimeters
often helps to restore reception. It is best to open
EyeTV > Preferences > Devices > Signal when
moving the antenna. This will give real-time feedback
on the level of reception.
3. The roof-mounted antenna is not compatible
with all digital TV signals
This is quite rare as most roof-mounted antennas
will work just fine. Check with your Aerial installer
service.
4. The given multiplex is 'low-power'
Some multiplexes are transmitted with a lower
power than others. In the UK, this may be the case
for the ITV multiplex in some areas.
If you live in the UK, you can verify the power of
a given transmitter on this page: http://www.ukfree.tv/transmitters.php
Enter your postcode and on the next page click on
the link for the transmitter. Scroll down to see the
transmitter list
The only solution is to use a roof-mounted antenna.
In some instances, you may have to connect a signal
booster between the antenna and the digital receiver.
