How to capture and export video with
Final Cut Pro 3.x/4.x and Director's Cut



1. In the View menu, make sure that Video Playback is set to Apple Firewire NTSC (or PAL where appropriate).

2. Make sure External Video is set to All Frames.

PAL Settings:

The following settings are recommended:

Summary Window:
Sequence Preset: DV PAL 48 KHz
Capture Preset: DV PAL 48 KHz
Device Control: Non-Controllable Device
Video Playback: Apple FireWire PAL (720*576)
Audio Playback: FireWire DV

A/V Devices Window:
Playback Output:
Video: Apple FireWire PAL (720*576)
You can select Mirror on Desktop if you wish to have the output on your computer monitor while Director's Cut is exporting.
Audio: FireWire DV




NTSC Settings:


The following settings are recommended:

Capture Preset: DV NTSC 48 KHz
Device Control: Non-Controllable Device
Video Playback: Apple FireWire NTSC (720*480)
Audio Playback: FireWire DV

Video: Apple FireWire PAL (720*576)
You can select Mirror on Desktop if you wish to have the output on your computer monitor while Director's Cut is exporting.
