Dialog+ FAQ
This FAQ covers general questions about Dialog+. For troubleshooting, please refer to this page
Q: What are the minimum system requirements for Dialog Plus?
A: A Mac with a G4/500 (or faster) processor or Intel processor, USB connectivity, Mac OS X 10.4.x and higher. It also works on PC's with a PIII, USB and Windows XP.
Q: What Voice over IP (VoIP) applications does Dialog Phone work with?
A: Dialog Plus offers full Skype integration. You can also use it with other VoIP applications by setting the Audio IN/OUT preferences to USB Headset (Dialog Plus is recognised as a Headset).
The first software release for DialogPlus does not yet offer full iChat integration, in the sense that you have to use your mouse or keyboard to receive/initiate a call. Integration with iChat AV will be complete very soon. The conversation recording function in iChat AV is fully functional out of the box.
Q: What is the range of Dialog Plus?
A: The range is about 25 meters.
Q: In what countries can I use Dialog Plus?
A: You can use Dialog Plus in any country. All you need is a broadband internet connection and a Skype or iChat/AIM account.
Q: Can I call landline or cell/mobile phones using Dialog Plus?
A: Yes. You will need to purchase SkypeOUT credits first.
Q: What sound quality can I expect when calling somebody?
A: The best audio quality will be obtained with a Skype-to-Skype call. In our experience, the audio quality can degrade slightly with SkypeOUT (this is a Skype issue) depending on networking conditions.
Q: What is the difference between DialogPhone and DialogPlus?
A: The range on DialogPlus is higher than on DialogPhone. DialogPhone is mainly targeted at mobile users thanks to its small size.
