DialogPhone Troubleshooting
Q: iChat integration does not seem to work under 10.4.8
A: Download DialogPhone 1.2, which provides compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4.8 and the latest iChat Security Update
Q: An error message appears when I launch iChat.
A: Download and install DialogPhone
1.2. Quit iChat, launch the new version of DialogPhone,
open the preference pane and click on General. Then click
on 'Reinstall Support files'. If this does not help, run
the Uninstall Utility available
for download and then reinstall DialogPhone 1.2 or
higher.
Q: Audio breaks up quite frequently. What should I do?
A: Make sure the dongle is in line of sight of the phone. A USB extension cable is provided in the package to facilitate this if you are using an iMac or MacMini.
Q: The sound quality with SkypeOUT calls is rather poor. Can I improve it?
A: As a general rule, the audio quality with SkypeOUT will be lower than with Skype. In some cases, hanging up and calling again will resolve audio quality issues.
Q: When I launch the DialogPhone software, an error message appears stating that the iChat Plug-in could not be loaded.
A: This issue appears on Mac OS X 10.4.8 and higher. Download and Install DialogPhone 1.2 available from the download page and the issue will be resolved.
Q: My iChat contacts are not loaded in the DialogPhone software
A: This is can happen if the iChat plug-in is not loaded. In DialogPhone 1.2 or higher, go to Preferences > General and click on Reinstall Support Files. Also, please be aware that DialogPhone will not show iChat contacts that have no voice capability. The View > Show Offline Contacts lets you decide whether you want to display offline contacts or not.
Q: I have installed Skype 2.6 and DialogPhone displays an error message stating I should use a newer version of Skype.
A: Make sure you use DialogPhone 1.2 or higher, available from the download page.
